Instruction and Training

We offer training from NPPL(M) for complete beginners to those needing conversions from other types of flying.

Our courses are tailored to individual needs and there is no need to pay for the whole thing 'up front'.

The NPPL(M) unrestricted license requires a student to complete a minimum of 25 hours of instruction of which 10 hours must be solo; all of which can be completed on the school’s machines.

Exams in Air Law, Navigation, Meteorology, Human Performance and Technical aspects of the aircraft must be passed and a General Flying Test[GFT] taken.

The number of hours a student actually needs to obtain a licence varies considerably and progress depends on aptitude and availability for lessons.

Courses:

Trial Lesson

A 30 minute lesson to find out what microlights are all about. If you are undecided about which type of microlight you want to fly why not try both!  Also, trial lesson make excellent presents!

Basic NPPL(M) course:

20 hours flying and series of 3 lectures, student's pack (log book, course notes, syllabus, cross-country and solo certificates).

Remember - Course packages can be tailored to individual requirements, with any combination of duration and accommodation.

You can train and learn to fly on our school aircraft until you feel ready to buy your own. Bear in mind though that you may find it advantageous to use your own machine from quite early on in your training.

Apart from our own airfield with three grass runways, we have the use of a variety of sites in the surrounding area, which adds greater variety and wider experience to your training.
